Some of these include a visit to Agios Nektarios, the biggest Orthodox Church in the worlds the very well preserved Temple of Aphaia, a series of abandoned chapels and dwellings with original wall paintings intact and even an inactive volcano. Aegina is a lively island which boasts its local charm and hospitality. Aegina is very easy to reach from Athens with many departures from Piraeus port all day long even in the winter months (40 minutes by hydrofoil of 80 minutes by ferry boat). One can easily visit Athens on a diary basis for business or pleasure such as to visit the Acropolis, the new Acropolis museum, Plaka and many other sights Athens has to offer. Other nearby islands which can be easily accessed include Agistri, Poros, Hydra and Spetses.
